A friend and I were getting gas and saw Your Mom’s across the street, the eclectic look of the restaurant and the promise of gourmet burgers pulled us in. The staff was very friendly, a couple of really cool guys. We ordered a James Brown with sweet potato fries, and a Willie Nelson with Ry-Ry fries. Everything was AWESOME! The burgers were delicous, and not dripping with grease. The option for texas toast was great. Too bad you couldnt tell us what the sauce was on the sweet fries The wait time was not bad at all, and the patio was a nice option.
We’ll definitely be coming back

I have been hearing about Your Mom’s for a while now. Numerous friends have told me that the burgers there are the best. I was really looking forward to trying it!
The food was good. I am looking forward to trying a different burger the next time I am there. The veggie burger was really good. I am very impressed with how yummy it is.
The guys that worked there were nice, considerate and on point.
But, my friend and I waited over 40 minutes for our food. There were 3 other 2 person tables that got their food before us. I wasn’t sure if it was my veggie burger or what. But having to wait that long for my food was pretty annoying. I am sure that they are usually good about getting the food out fast, and I will try it again. I was just a little annoyed the couple that showed up 5 min. after us, were done eating by the time we got ours.

By far the best burger I have ever eaten in my life. I went for the first time on Saturday, and was back on Monday. It’s a 30 minute drive from my house. Get the Willie Nelson, enough said.

I had the veggie burger today and thought it was fantastic. I have no problem paying a little extra for something that is quality. It’s definitely not just a frozen veggie patty that most other restaurants offer.
The owner—I think he was the owner—looks like Baba Booey from the Howard Stern Show. This made the lunch even more enjoyable!
The sweet potato fries were amazing.
This veggie-head will definitely be back for more!

Last time I came to visit Your Mom’s (about 4-5 weeks ago), I brought 20 of my closests friends and we all ordered on 1 ticket, so it took a while (40 minutes, which was reasonable for size of our order). I had previously had a burger and fries, and was blown away! With the large order I was able to get the onion rings, fries, and sweet potato fries and share… though I quickly discovered I did not want to share! This stuff is insanely good!!! ALL OF IT!!!! I learned on this trek that Your Mom’s will soon offer beer… for the love of all that is good and decent, please get some local beers… just say no to Lone Star! Then Your Mom’s will be a perfect 10 in every category!
And when you open shop #2, SW Austin would love to have you!

I first heard about Your Mom’s at one of my BrewSkee Ball matches. A fellow skeeballer ordered the Don Ho and the aroma was incredible. She let me try a bite and I was hooked. Since then, I’ve been to Your Mom’s many times. I have made it my mission to try every burger on the menu. So far, the Buffalo Burger and the Frida Kahlo on veggie patty (but with the chorizo, too) are my favorites.
I tell everyone about this place. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and helpful and I love the atmosphere, too.
I wanted to bring friends that are in from out of town today, but we had to change our plans since there are no high chairs there anymore. Eating with my little guy running all over the place would be no fun for anybody. Hope you guys get more high chairs soon! I hate to think how often I’m going to not come there when I would otherwise, simply because there’s no seating available for my little dude.
Good job, Ryan!!! You have created one of my favorite places in town, and every time I think about moving away from Austin now, I have to seriously consider whether I’m willing to live hours away from the best burgers I’ve ever eaten in my life.

ya someone stole our high chairs. i’ll get more today or tomorrow. next time you come in we will have them!
thanks!
happy holidays!

I consider myself somewhat of a sweet potato fry connaissuer. After years of searching and experimenting, I have finally found THE best sweet potato fries in the universe!! The burgers are what lured me to this place(which are in the running for best in town), but I would drive 2 hours just for a basket of these perfect fries!!

After a glowing review from a friend I trust, I went to Mom’s last night with my fiance, and 3 out of town guests. I can honestly say this place is my new favorite burger joint in Austin.
The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and original, the fries were amazing, the wings were the size of drumsticks, and the service was amazingly friendly.
We hung out on the front porch drinking BYOB beer for hours, and chatting with the waitstaff periodically as they came out to check on us.
Thanks for the great food, and the great service. Can’t wait till you guys open that new northside location.

I love your veggie burgers.
With the price I can only have them about once a month, but I enjoy the hell out of them every time.
Keep up the good work.

Best burger in Austin, hands-down. Nothing else is even close. Don’t know if it was really fair drizzling the opium-laced caramelized sauce on the sweet-potato fries, or whatever it was. Yowza. If you start making chocolate shakes I’m moving to E Cesar Chavez.

Is it still vegan? And what is the major difference and why?
Thanks!

Great burger y’all. I had a Willie Nelson and it was one of the best burger and fries I’ve had.
The only drawback is that you guys charge extra for fries. $7 plus bucks for a burger should come with fries. I don’t know why this has become a stingy trend with burger bars.
moms says:
March 10, 2011 at 7:00 pm
glad you liked it!
it’s not stingy… it’s the cost of food and overheads for us. our prices are where they are at to keep the doors open.
come back and visit soon!
love,
Your Mom’s

Went to your establishment today, and was blown away. The Rockefeller might have been the best burger I’ve ever had. Also really loved the decor of the place as well. So thank you, I’ll most definitely be back, and I’ll bring friends.

Yes it is still vegan. We were experimenting with trying to improve it. So far customers have been telling us positive things. Let me know your feedback after trying it out. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I’m kind of sad about the new veggie burgers. They’re good and all and have great texture, but they don’t even come close to the old version of the veggie burgers that you guys used to make. The old version was a complete standout against the crowd of veggie burgers in Austin. The new one just kind of blends in with the rest = Any chance we’ll see a return of the original recipe?

Try them again please I admit we were adjusting some things but I had one yesterday and it was so tasty. We have had our regular veggie customers now tell us it is better than before. Let me know when you get a chance to try them again.
Thanks!

First-time visitor today, and I had the Chi-Cheng burger with onion rings. That Chi-Cheng burger was awesome! The onion rings were perfect, too. I am definitely a regular customer from now on. (Looking forward to the John D. Rockefeller next time. )
